Troop 130 welcomes new scouts and parents !
We are an active, boy-led troop, ages 11-18, from a multitude of countries, which is passionate about Scouting ideals and having fun in beautiful Switzerland! We invite boys* to join in with one of our scouting activities to try it out and meet the scouts, and for parents to meet the scoutmasters and other adults.
* Scouts BSA is now open also to girls. Contact us if you are interested in forming a new troop for girls linked to our boys troop. Or check out Troop 77 which has a girls troop.
What do we do?
We have a regular troop meeting once a month in the Versoix woods where we learn scouting skills, play games and enjoy fellowship. We also have a regular schedule of weekend activities, both one-day and overnight. Some of the activities that we have done in 2024-25 include river rafting in Bern, wilderness camping, skiing, hiking, and both winter and summer camps at the Scout Center in Kandersteg. We also do community service projects, earn merit badges, and learn valuable leadership and life lessons. We welcome new ideas and suggestions for fun!
The Scouting America program involves advancement towards ranks which can demonstrate a Scout's commitment and application of the fundamentals of Scouting. For the progression to each rank, a Scout will have to either demonstrate skills/knowledge on specific topics (i.e aquatics, cooking) or leadership.
