Can I post to the Website?

Yes, If you want to post an entry please register yourself and once your user account has been approved you can post entries to the categories on the site yourself.

1. Register for a user account 

2..Login to the administration section
3. Write a post, select the category you wish it to appear under (i.e. click on category button on right of screen and select the appropriate Den.
4. Save your post
5. Publish the post.
6. Your first post has to get approved by me, this is done to prevent spam appearing on the site. All subsequent posts will appear straight away.

Why does the front page constanly change?

This website design is what’s known as a blog, it’s basicically designed to display posts/comments made by people which can be put into distinct categories. The Scout site is designed to provide all scout parents and scouts information on up and coming events and meetings.

What are the Tabs along the top for?

The site also has a number of static ‘pages’ that appear as tabs along the top of the screen and as links on the top right of the page. These pages are designed to give more information on specific topics and to provide a more permenant link to topical and interesting data.

Can my den post comments or have a link to their website?

Absolutely, individual dens can post information to this site and these will appear on the front page and the posting will appear under the appropriate Den category as well. More can be done for the dens, for instance Den  7 has a link set up to their own website, this could be done for other dens if you have a site. If you want some advice , can give me the link to your website or just want some help or some advice drop me a line.
